Publishing Forms
“How might we re-imagine content beyond a static page?
Brief of Project 1
Using the given text, create a published object that amplifies the content in new and exciting ways. This project explores different approaches to organizing, designing, and distributing information in a published form, online and offline.”
In the Publishing Project, I explored the dynamic nature of content dissemination in the digital age and the potential to reimagine traditional books. Throughout the process, I engaged in iterative design, refining printing methods, material choices, and text presentation. The initial printing effort led to significant improvements, including transitioning from saddle stitch binding to a foldable accordion-style book and adjusting laser engraving on the cover.

Drawing from the idea of a hybrid book, I envisioned utilizing a transparent acrylic board for the book cover, mimicking the sleek appearance of an iPad Air screen. With reference to some paragraphs, I created AR interactive experiences to enhance static content and increase audience engagement.

In addition to the physical book, I also designed a digital version. Readers can easily access it by scanning the QR code located on the back cover of the book.

This project has not only honed my design skills but also provided a sense of accomplishment, particularly seeing my work displayed at the interim exhibition. It exemplifies my commitment to exploring the intersection of traditional and digital publishing, aiming to create compelling and immersive reader experiences.
